ABOUT PROJECT

This study analyses and discovers important antecedents of the intention to participate in ecotourism and to pay premium rates for the experience, based on planned behaviour conjecture and post-materialism assumptions. A conceptual model incorporates environmental perspectives, attitudes toward ecotourism, behavioural indicators, and willingness to pay premium (WTPP), as well as materialism and general tourist motivation. Using samples of Swedish and Taiwanese travelers, the assumptions are empirically tested. According to the findings, attitudes and environmental views are positively related with intention and WTPP. Materialistic values, on the other hand, have a negative impact. The findings also show that the type of tourism motive leading the visitor has a divergent moderating influence on the environmental beliefs attitude connection. The study's findings provide light on what inspires consumer behaviour in the context of ecotourism.
